Baroque to Folk

This program weaves together melodies from Bach’s Baroque with traditional folk, celtic, and bluegrass fiddle repertoire, exploring the connections found between Baroque to Folk. Our arrangements draw material from Bach’s Cello Suite No. 2 in D minor, Violin Partita in E Major, Violin Concerto in A min, The Hunting Cantata and the Brandenburgs, with a few surprises from Telemann and other contemporaries. The Baroque will be compiled with traditional Folk and bluegrass fiddle repertoire such as Shady Grove, Foreign Lander, Nellie Kane, and Celtic melodies including Tuttle’s Reel, Sakow’s Jig and more. We highly encourage toe tapping as you experience this treasured music in a different way!
